There are 2 main parts to setting up Cart32 to use PayPal's Website Payments Pro. The first is setting up the server to access the PayPal servers and the second is setting up the client to use PayPal Pro.
Note: PayPal Payments Pro is only supported in the Enterprise Edition of Cart32.

Server Set Up
Here are the steps for server set up. For each installation of Cart32 that has clients that want to use this feature, there has to be a certificate installed on the server's certificate store.
Here are the steps for server set up:
- Log on to your PayPal account
(This is the PayPal account of the web hosting company or whoever owns the Cart32 license.)
- Go to the Profile section.
- Choose API Access under the Account Information section.
- Click Request API Credentials.
- Select API SSL client-side certificate.
- Fill in the requested information and download the certificate to the server.
- Run Cart32's PayPal Set Up Wizard
(This will be a file called PayPalWizard.exe in the Cart32 directory.)
- Click Browse in the wizard to find your certificate file and then enter the password used for your PayPal login.
- Go into the Cart32 web administration and log in the main admin area.
- Choose PayPal Website Payments Pro from the General Administration area.
- Enter in your PayPal API username and password and click Save.
That completes the server set up. The rest is done in the Cart32 client settings and client's PayPal account.
Client Set Up
In order to set up Cart32 to use PayPal for your Cart32 client you need to follow these steps:
- You have to have a PayPal account that has signed up and approved to use Website Payments Pro.
- Next you need to log on to your PayPal account.
- Go to the Profile section.
- Click API Access.
- Click View or Change API Permissions.
- Click Add New Permission.
- Enter your API Partner Username..
This should be given to you by your web host if you do not have your own license of Cart32. If you have your own license of Cart32, then you put in the API username from the server set up section.
For example: paypal_api1.cart32.com
- Select Your API Access Level by checking the following items and click Save.
- Direct_Payment
- Express_Checkout
- Go to the Cart32 Web Administration.
- There are 2 options to use PayPal Website Payments Pro. One or both can be setup in your cart.
Option 1: Express Checkout. This is where a customer can check out with directly PayPal. This means that they will go to PayPal's site and get their billing and shipping information and then come back to your Cart32 shopping cart to finish their order. To enable this feature, go to the Cart Settings -> PayPal tab and choose Yes next to the "Use PayPal Express Checkout" radio button choice and click Save.
Option 2: Merchant Account. This is where a customer can enter in their billing information in Cart32 and have PayPal charge their card without the customer even knowing that it's done through PayPal. To enable this feature, go to the Enterprise Tab. You should be on the "Real Time Card Processing" tab by default. Choose "PayPal Direct Payment" from the list and then check "Use Real Time Card Processing" and click Save.
- Make sure that you have the right payment fields turned on. You do this by going to the Cart Settings -> Payment Information tab. Make sure you have "Show" set to "Yes" for the following items: Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Credit Card, Exp Date and CVV2. Make sure you have "Show" set to "No" for PayPal (this hides PayPal classic).
- Finally, under the Cart Settings Tab -> Paypal subtab -> PayPal Classic Settings section, enter your PayPal ID in the "PayPal ID/Email" field.
